<p class="noindent">Los resultados e interpretaciones expuestas en la presente Tesis Doctoral permiten establecer algunas conclusiones sobre la relaci&#x00F3;n entre los genotipos del polimorfismo Val158Met (rs4680) del gen de la COMT y diferentes s&#x00ED;ntomas centrales en el s&#x00ED;ndrome de fibromialgia:</p>
<p class="num">&#x2713; Los datos parecen confirmar la influencia de los genotipos del gen de la COMT sobre los s&#x00ED;ntomas f&#x00ED;sicos y cognitivos en fibromialgia.</p>
<p class="num">&#x2713; Las pacientes con fibromialgia portadoras del genotipo Met/Met muestran m&#x00E1;s fatiga que las pacientes heterocigotas. En cambio, no se encuentran diferencias significativas entre los genotipos Met/Met y Val/Val pese a que las primeras muestran mayores niveles de fatiga.</p>
<p class="num">&#x2713; En pacientes con fibromialgia, el miedo al dolor m&#x00E9;dico puede actuar como un factor moderador en la relaci&#x00F3;n entre el alelo Met del gen de la COMT y la percepci&#x00F3;n de fatiga.</p>
<p class="num">&#x2713; Las pacientes con fibromialgia portadoras del genotipo Val/Val muestran menor rendimiento en tareas visoespaciales de memoria de trabajo.</p>
<p class="num">&#x2713; Incidiendo en esto &#x00FA;ltimo, las pacientes con fibromialgia que portan dos alelos de valina en el gen de la COMT parecen mostrar un patr&#x00F3;n electrofisiol&#x00F3;gico diferente al de las controles sanas, reflejando mayor amplitud, en estas pacientes, del componente P2 frontocentral durante una tarea N-back.</p>
<p class="num">&#x2713; Este aumento en el componente P2 frontocentral en pacientes con fibromialgia homocigotas de valina podr&#x00ED;a reflejar una alteraci&#x00F3;n en la atenci&#x00F3;n ejecutiva, as&#x00ED; como la presencia de mecanismos compensatorios debido a una menor eficiencia en la comunicaci&#x00F3;n dopamin&#x00E9;rgica en zonas frontocentrales.</p>
