En la primera parte de este trabajo nos centramos en estudiar la especialidad del álgebra de Jordan asociado a un elemento ad-nilpotenten de índice menor o igual a 3 y la especialidad del subcociente asociado a un ideal interno abeliano ([36]).
En el caso del álgebra de Jordan La asociada a un elemento ad-nilpotente a de índice menor o igual a 3 de un álgebra de Lie L fuertemente prima sobre un anillo de escalares ϕ, con , tenemos que La es especial si el conjunto
no es un subálgebra de L. Para ello, utilizamos el trabajo de Esther García y Miguel Gómez [35] en el que se demuestra que para cualquier elemento ad-nilpotente de índice menor o igual que 3 a ∈ L da lugar a una filtración
donde y , lo que induce un álgebra 5-graduada
Nótese que, es este caso, se tiene que
con lo que [(a)L, KerLa]2 ⊂ 𝒢–2 = (a)L y [(a)L, KerLa]3 = 0. Esta filtración principal asociada a un elemento ad-nilpotente de índice menor o igual que 3 y sus propiedades serán de utilidad para poder construir posteriormente una filtración asociada a un ideal interno abeliano de un álgebra de Lie.
Cuando B es un ideal interno abeliano de un álgebra de Lie L fuertemente prima, no solo tenemos que pedir que el conjunto
no sea un subálgebra de L, sino que necesitamos que [B, KerLB] sea una subálgebra nilpotente de L. Esta condición se tiene cuando existe n ∈ ℕ tal que [B, KerLB]n ⊂ B, ya que esto implica que
Bajo la condición [B, KerLB]n ⊂ B para algún n ∈ ℕ, podemos construir una ℤ-filtración acotada asociada al ideal interno abeliano B de manera que B es el primer submódulo no nulo de la filtración. Además, el par de Jordan asociado al álgebra de Lie ℤ-graduada inducida por esta filtración coincide con el subcociente (B, L/KerLB). Esta filtración extiende a la filtración principal inducida por un elemento ad-nilpotente de índice menor o igual que 3 definida en [35].
Por lo tanto, si pedimos como condición extra que exista n ∈ ℕ tal que [B, KerLB]n ⊂ B, no solo tendremos que [B, KerLB] es nilpotente, sino que además podremos utilizar la filtración inducida por el ideal interno abeliano B para demostrar la especialidad del subcociente (B, L/KerLB).
En ese caso, debemos analizar la hipótesis [B, KerLB]n ⊂ B para algún n ∈ ℕ, llegando a la conclusión de que no es una hipótesis muy restrictiva, ya que se verifica en las álgebras de Lie más usuales: si B es un ideal interno abeliano de un álgebra asociativa semiprima R, B es un ideal interno abeliano de los elementos antisimétricos de un álgebra asociativa semiprima con involución, o B es un ideal interno abeliano de longitud finita de un álgebra de Lie no degenerada, la condición [B, KerLB]n ⊂ B siempre se verifica para un cierto n ∈ ℕ. Sin embargo, queda abierta la cuestión de si siempre existe n ∈ ℕ tal que [B, KerLB]n ⊂ B en un álgebra de Lie L no degenerada, fuertemente prima o simple.
Analizamos también la relación existente entre la filtración principal asociada a un elemento ad-nilpotente a ∈ L de índice menor o igual que 3 en un álgebra de Lie no degenerada sobre un anillo de escalares ϕ, con , y la filtración asociada al ideal interno abeliano B = (a)L = [a, [a, L]] + Φa. Si denotamos por {𝒢i}i∈ℤ a la filtración principal definida por a dada en [35] y por {Fi}i∈ℤ a la filtración asociada al ideal interno abeliano B = (a)L, tenemos entonces que
Además, ambas filtraciones coinciden cuando a ∈ [a, [a, L]].
En la segunda parte del trabajo obtenemos una forma canónica de Jordan de un elemento nilpotente en un anillo arbitrario ([38]). Si a ∈ R es un elemento nilpotente del índice n y an–1 es regular von Neumann, podemos construir un idempotente e ∈ R, que conmuta con a, y tal que eRe ≌ Mn(S), donde S es un anillo unitario. Además, el elemento a se descompone como a = ea + (1 − e)a, siendo ea ∈ eRe ≅ Mn(S) un bloque de Jordan de tamaño n ⨯ n y (1 − e)a un elemento nilpotente de índice menor que n. Tal idempotente e aparece gracias al concepto de inverso de Rus del elemento a, esto es, un elemento b de R verificando que an–1ban–1 = an–1, ban–1b = b y bakb = 0 para todo k ∈ {0, 1,…, n – 2}. Dado un inverso de Rus de a, definimos una familia de idempotentes con , tal que .
Gracias a este resultado, demostramos que si a ∈ R es un elemento nilpotente tal que as es regular von Neumann para todo s ∈ ℕ, entonces existe una familia de idempotentes ortogonales no nulos , todos ellos conmutando con a, tales que a se pueden descomponer como , donde cada elemento uia es un elemento bloque nilpotente de índice ni, con n = n1 > n2 > · · · > nk, asociado al idempotente bloque ui. Al ser cada sumando uia un bloque de Jordan, llamaremos forma canónica de Jordan del elemento nilpotente a a la suma de estos bloques de Jordan.
Aplicamos estos resultados para describir la estructura de los anillos con un elemento nilpotente a de índice máximo n y tal que an–1 es regular von Neumann. Con algunas condiciones adicionales sobre la regularidad del anillo, damos descripciones más precisas sobre los coeficientes de los anillos de matrices involucrados. Por ejemplo, si R es regular von Neumann, entonces eRe ≌ Mn(S), donde S es regular abeliano y, si además R es indescomponible, entonces S resulta ser un anillo de división.
